Zip lines, also known as zip wire, aerial runway, death slide or tyrolean crossing, are most typically used as an outdoor adventure activity. Zip lines are suspended cables mounted on an incline which can propel you down using a pulley or something like it. Zip lining has become popular especially in exploring high elevations.

One of these sites where zip lining is a part of an adventure in Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. They call it the Canopy Tours. The site lies in the heart of a tropical forest, an eco-reserve of Mexico's amazing floral and faunal species. The experience of swinging along dense tropical forest is amazing. You get to capture the rare sights and sounds of the wild.

The platforms are as high as 90 feet above the forest floor. You could go along series of zip lines to capture breath-taking sights of the bio-diversity of such a Mexican tropical forest can offer. You can go along the lines with speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. Currently, there are a total of 14 zip lines, each offering unique views of the forest below.

Almost adventure sites offering zip lining follows strict safety rules to prevent any form of accident. This is especially true in Puerto Vallarta, where the zip lines are constantly being monitored for strength and durability. Staff and guides have undergone rigorous trainings in this kind of adventure ride.

For those who have the nerve for adventure, get ready to be in a usual hiking attire. Don't forget to bring a handy camera to capture those magnificent sights. Be sure that it has a strap that could go around your neck. But make sure that the strap doesn't mess up with the cable.
